Investigators say Johnson fled the scene and became the center of a massive manhunt in northeastern Broome County that lasted around 21 hours.

Acting on one of many tips to the authorities, Troopers were able to get a New York State Police Aviation Unit into the air and, along with officers on the ground, were able to find Johnson along the banks of the Susquehanna River off Route 79 in Colesville at around 4:40 p.m. on June 10.

Johnson was taken into custody without further incident.  He’s been held in the Broome County Jail without bail.
