3 Binghamton Mets Teams To Be Inducted Into Baseball Shrine
The 2024 Eastern League AA Binghamton Rumble Ponies are winding down their regular season with hopes of extending play in the postseason. It's been an exciting season of baseball.
The Rumble Ponies just made another exciting announcement. The 1992, 1994, and 2014 Binghamton Mets championship teams will be the 2024 inductees to the Binghamton Baseball Shrine.
The ceremony is set for Saturday, September 7, at Mirabito Stadium just before game time between the Rumble Ponies and the Somerset Patriots.
According to the Rumble Ponies, the ceremony will take place around 5:30 p.m., emceed by longtime WNBF and Binghamton University broadcaster Roger Neel, along with longtime voice of the Binghamton Mets Tim Heiman.

The 1992 Binghamton Mets won the Eastern League championship in its inaugural year, after more than two decades without professional baseball in the Triple Cities. The B-Mets knocked out the Canton-Akron Indians three games to one.
In just the 3rd season, the 1994 Binghamton Mets brought home another Eastern League championship trophy. Over 5000 fans watched the team win at home over the Harrisburg Senators, taking the series three games to one.
It would be 20 years before the Binghamton Mets would hold the Eastern League trophy again. The 2014 Binghamton Mets defeated the Richmond Flying Squirrels with a three-game sweep, winning the championship on home turf.
The Rumble Ponies note that the Binghamton Baseball Shrine began in 1993, and currently has 81 members. This year will be the 28th induction class.
