$20,000 Reward Offered in Search for Broome County Car Dealer
The family of a missing Vestal man is offering a $20,000 reward for any information that leads directly to his whereabouts.
69-year-old Adib "Eddie" Rouhana has been missing for more than two weeks.
Authorities said Rouhana was last seen around noon on January 11 at his place of business - Cars-R-Us - in the town of Chenango. The vehicle dealership is located at 1170 Upper Front Street.
According to the Broome County Sheriff's Office, cell phone records indicated the phone was last used later that day.
Rouhana's family reported him missing on January 14. The Broome County Sheriff's Office has been investigating his disappearance.
Sheriff Fred Akshar said detectives have followed through every lead and used "every investigative tool available" in the effort to located Rouhana.
Several members of Rouhana's family appeared with Akshar and sheriff's department investigators Wednesday afternoon at a news conference to announce the reward offer.
Akshar said "someone in this community knows more" about what happened to Rouhana and "we need more information and assistance from the public to help find him."
The sheriff would not say what other agencies are assisting in the investigation and he declined to answer any questions related to the case.
Zane Rouhana, a son of the missing man, said his father said his father has been part of the community for the past 30 years. He described him as "a kind-hearted man who cares so much about doing what's right for others and making sure people find joy in life."
People may report any tips, video footage, possible sightings or any other information to the sheriff's office tip line at (607) 778-1196.
