The Ukrainian Cultural Association is commemorating the second anniversary of the war in Ukraine with a special candlelit vigil and movie viewing on Saturday, February 24th.

The candlelit vigil will kick off at 5:30 pm on the peaceful quads of Binghamton University’s campus. You are invited to join community members, students, and members of the Ukrainian Cultural Association as they get together to honor the Ukrainian people during this incredibly challenging time.

Movie Screening of "20 Days in Mariupol"

After the vigil is over,  the association will be showing the movie "20 Days in Mariupol." This film will show the realities and struggles that are faced by our local community during the war. The movie screening will begin at 6:30 pm in Lecture Hall 14 and will contain some thought-provoking storytelling.

This special event will remind the Southern Tier about the ongoing war and the impact that it has on Ukraine and the Ukrainian people. This is a chance to come together as a community, show support, and found out more about the experiences of those affected by this war.

Join the Ukrainian Cultural Association at Binghamton University on Saturday, February 24th at 5:30 pm for the candlelit vigil on the peace quad, followed by the movie viewing at 6:30 p.m. in Lecture Hall 14.

I have some friends that went to Ukraine during this war and the stories that they have shared with me, made my heart and stomach turn. If this movie is anything like that, it'll be a movie that needs to be seen.  Let's show our solidarity and honor the strength of the Ukrainian people!
