Topping the charts are Apple TV+ and Disney+, as they are planning to have a 18% average annual price increase since they launched back in November 2019.

Subscribers were left scratching their heads as they went from $4.99 to $9.99 for Apple TV+ and $6.99 to $13.99 for Disney+ over the span of the last five years. That is some kind of sticker shock!

Netflix isn't far behind, with a 5.4% annual price bump. In 2001, the price was $7.99 and has jumped to $15.49 in 2024. This is a way to have the price creep along so that you don't really notice but it adds up over time. Drip, Drip, Drip!

Peacock and Hulu aren't exempt from this either.  Peacock had a 5.3% yearly price jump in its three and a half years, while Hulu's been upping its cost by an average of 5% each year since 2015.

Are there any streaming services that are not increasing their subscription prices? Good news, Crunchyroll is standing pat. Since its kickoff in August 2020, they have kept their subscription price steady at $7.99. That is some price consistency worth applauding about in the wild world of streaming services!

With subscription costs always on the rise, this is a heads-up for all of us. Stay on top of the changes in the streaming world and get the best bang for your buck.
