Celebrate Rumble Ponies’ Championship Win At Mirabito Stadium
The Binghamton Rumble Ponies have done it again. They defeated the Erie SeaWolves 8-2 in the decisive Game 3 of the Eastern League Championship Series at UPMC Park. It's their fourth Eastern League championship in their history and their first since 2014.
Binghamton Rumble Ponies Win Eastern League Championship
They jumped out to an early 2-0 lead by scoring two runs with two outs in the 1st inning and secured the win by scoring three runs in the ninth for the 8-2 win. Binghamton had the best record in Double-A with a franchise-record 90 wins and won the first and second-half Northeast Division title.
That wasn't good enough for home field advantage because they don't go by record. The Ponies play in the Northeast Division while Erie comes from the Southwest. They take turns every year, so the SeaWolves had the home field advantage.
Eastern League Playoffs Need To Do Better
The Eastern League Championship series used to be a five-game series but changed to a three-game affair around the time of Covid. The Ponies played game 1 at Mirabito Stadium on Sunday and went on the road for games 2 and 3.

The Pones had NO WAY of winning and celebrating at home and major league baseball needs to better. If they are going to stick with the 3-game format, they should at least divide it up so that the team with the home-field advantage plays game 1 and 3 at home. That way both teams would have the chance to win at home but I digress.
Binghamton Rumble Ponies Championship Celebration
The Binghamton Rumble Ponies wants all their fans to come to Mirabito Stadium for a victory celebration. It takes place today (Thursday, September 25th) beginning at 2:30 p.m. at Mirabito Stadium.
This event is free to the public and the coaches and players will be honored on the field. Come celebrate their fourth Eastern League title. The Rumble Ponies first homestand of the 2026 season at Mirabito Stadium will be against Double-A Series rival Somerset (Double-A Yankees) from April 7th through the 12th.
Binghamton is the city of champions with the Binghamton Black Bears winning their second-in-a-row FPHL championship and the Ponies securing their 4th Eastern League Division title.
