A survey by Compare the Market AU revealed that the Empire State ranks as the eighth state with the most disruptive neighbors, with almost 20% of residents facing daily noise disturbances.

The top annoyances of New Yorkers include barking dogs, making up nearly half (46%) of noise complaints, followed by loud music or parties also at 46%. Then there is the construction or home improvement noises at over 30%, followed by the clamor of kids running and yelling at 29%.

When does the noise reach its peak in the city that never sleeps? According to the survey, 33% of New Yorkers endure the loudest disturbances at night, which can lead to sleepless nights and frayed nerves.

Despite the constant noise, 67% of residents decide to suffer in silence rather than have a noise showdown with their neighbors. However, 17% brave souls have seen enough, and they have taken their complaints to local authorities.
