New York Ranks 4th in the Nation

According to St. Thomas University Online, New York ranks 4th in the entire country for interest in reskilling and going back to school. That’s based on Google search data, which found 563 searches per 100,000 residents on things like “career change” and “online degree.”

The Top Searches Say It All

When New Yorkers hit the search bar, the top terms are “online master’s degree programs,” “online MBA,” and “career change.” People are curious about furthering their education and finding a new path.

Most Mid-Career Workers Are Considering a Switch

The study also showed that nearly 90% of professionals between the ages of 30 and 55 are thinking about changing their career. Out of those, 60% said they would consider going back to school for a graduate degree to make it happen.

Earning More Is the Main Goal

Why are so many New Yorkers putting in the extra work? Money plays a big part with 61% of mid career professionals saying they would go back to school to try and make more money.
