It sure is hard to wrap our heads around that the summer season has just about come to an end and with it, it will take the roadside yard sales that we just can't help but pull over to check out.

As yard sale season winds down, one yard sale is just getting ramped up and this one benefits an organization that has done, and continues to do so much good for our community - Chenango County Habitat for Humanity.

Chenango County Habitat for Humanity is headquartered in Afton and its purpose is to partner "with individuals and families in need of a decent and affordable place to live." This is accomplished by building and improving homes with the help of volunteers and the recipients of the housing.

As you can imagine, building and even improving homes comes at quite a hefty cost and so a benefit yard sale will help offset some of the costs substantially.

The benefit yard sale for Chenango County Habitat for Humanity will take place on Thursday, September 15, Friday, September 16, and Saturday, September 17 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. all three days at 16 North Canal Street in Oxford (located just north of NBT bank), next to the Mirabito gas station.

If you're looking to snag one last amazing summer yard sale bargain, you'll have a good chance of doing that at the Chenango County Habitat for Humanity Yard Sale where there will be treasures such as Sports cards, comics, furniture, tools, clothing, fabric, tools, electronics, and much more. Proceeds will benefit the Chenango County Habitat for Humanity.

The Chenango County Habitat for Humanity is always looking for donations of supplies and for volunteers. If you'd like to learn how you can lend a hand, visit chenangohabitat.org.
