Someone is about to be handed a brand new KinderCare, a spring 2027 opening date, and a team that still has to be built. That’s the Center Director job at the Broome County center opening at Oakdale Commons, and KinderCare wants it filled by the end of November.

According to the Broome County Executive’s Office, applications are open now. The posting asks for at least one year of leadership experience.

Broome County KinderCare Center Director Job Duties

This job starts well before the first family walks through the door. The director helps get the center ready for opening day and then leads it day to day. Because a new center has to build its crew from scratch, hiring, engaging, and developing a team of educators is a big part of the work.

The director also partners with parents, builds relationships with families and teachers in the building, and stays in touch with state licensing authorities. There’s a little salesperson in the job too. The posting says directors use business and marketing savvy to grow KinderCare’s presence in the community, which for a center that hasn’t opened yet means getting the word out around Broome County and filling classrooms.
