Broome County Is Decking the Park for the Holidays on Saturday
If you’re looking for something festive to do with friends or family, then Broome County’s “Deck the Park” event is a great option. It’s a free, outdoor holiday celebration!
When and Where to Go
Deck the Park happens this Saturday, December 6th from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Grippen Community Park in Endicott. The kickoff starts at 5 p.m. with the tree lighting set for 5:30 p.m. so you’ll want to get there early.
What You’ll See When You Arrive
The park will be lit up with sparkling lights and holiday displays, including 24 decorated trees representing the communities across Broome County. It’s a stroll-around, take-it-all-in kind of night, so dress warm and plan to wander.
Free Fun for Kids (and Grown-Ups Too
There’s a lot happening at this event, and most of it is free. Kids can enjoy holiday activities, face painting, and photos with Santa. There will also be free ice skating including skate rentals which is a nice bonus if you’ve never tried skating or don’t own skates.

Hot Chocolate, Cookies, and Giving Back
The first 300 people to show up will get free hot chocolate and a cookie. There will also be a card making station where you can make holiday cards for local veterans.
Something for the Adults Too
If you’re coming without kids or just want to warm up from the inside Crooked Mouth Brewery will be on site selling holiday drinks. It’s a great way to enjoy the night while still taking in the festive atmosphere.
