I'm so excited that it's back and that I will be a part of it again this year. It's the 2023 Binghamton Pond Festival at the Chenango Valley Sate Park. This was created to provide a fun family event in our area but it has become more then that...much more.

They've donated over $41,000 since it began in 2016 and that includes a two-year hiatus because of the pandemic. This one of the few outdoor hockey events that uses mechanical refrigeration so the ice can stay hard, no matter what the weather throws at us.

This takes us back to the old hockey days when we would play outdoors and we could see our breath in the air and the wind on our face. It's back for the first time since 2020 and there is so much planned. It all begins on Friday, January 20th and runs for three weekends.

Binghamton Pond Festival Schedule

January 20th - 22nd: Adult outdoor 3 vs 3 tournament (21+) with hockey trivia in the CV State Park Dome on Saturday, January 21st at 1 p.m.

January 27th - 29th: USA Hockey Sanctioned Youth Weekend with FREE Try Hockey for Kids on Saturday, 28th at 4 p.m. If your child has ever thought about taking up the sport of hockey, that would be a GREAT day to try it.

February 3rd - 5th: Adult Outdoor 4 vs 4 tournament. Saturday, February 4th is hockey trivia in the CV State Park Dome at 1 p.m. It all comes to an end on Sunday, February 4th with a Firework Show at 6:30 p.m.
