It's the final weekend of the Binghamton Pond Festival at Chenango Valley State Park. The first two weekends were a HUGE success especially on Saturday January 28th with "FREE Try Hockey for KIds."

It was awesome seeing so many youngsters taking to the outdoor ice and giving hockey a try. This is the final weekend with the Adult Outdoor 4 vs 4 tournament and Firework Show.

Because of the extreme weather forecast for Friday, they are making some changes for this weekend. Friday's forecast is calling for frigid, falling temperatures and blowing snow. It'll be a high of 8 and with wind gusts up to 35 mph, the wind chill for Friday will make it feel like 15 below.

Friday night isn't any better with a low of minus 6 with 20 mph winds that will make the Wind Chill as low as 30 below zero. Saturday has a high of 10 and Sunday will be more seasonable with a high near 40. No wonder everyone has a head cold.

Binghamton Pond Festival Schedule Update

The Binghamton Pond Festival is cancelling all games and activities on Friday. They want to make sure that everyone that's playing, volunteering and attending. They are rescheduling tournament games and family activities for Saturday and Sunday.

The fireworks show has been moved to Sunday, February 5th at 6 p.m. The 4 vs 4 tournament will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday and they will have ROARING fires to keep you warm. That's probably where you'll find me.

The Binghamton Pond Festival supports the Mental Health Association of the Southern Tier (MHAST) and Do It For Daron (DIFD) Power to the Purple youth mental health initiative.

This one of the few outdoor hockey events that uses mechanical refrigeration so the ice can stay hard, no matter what the weather throws at us. The Binghamton Pond Festival is at the Chenango State Park, 153, State Park Road in Chenango Forks.
