When's the last time you drove to Cherry Valley for pulled pork poutine or Gilbertsville for banh mi?
BEST OTSEGO COUNTY RESTAURANTS THAT ARE WORTH THE DRIVE:
Tryon Inn & Backdoor Bar (124 Main Street, Cherry Valley, NY) Chef Josh Rumberger is knocking it out of the park, day after day with his skills. If it's chef driven, yet accessible plates at an approachable price point you're after, the Tryon Inn should be on your list.
The Rose and Kettle Restaurant (4 Lancaster St, Cherry Valley, NY) Also in Cherry Valley is the Rose & Kettle. This is a great spot for a special occasion or for an impressive date night. The menu features rotate with the seasons as well as what's in season locally.
Five Kids Bakehouse (5 Commercial St, Gilbertsville, NY) We're going to shoot clear across the county to Five Kids Bakehouse located in Gilbertsville. Five Kids has baked goods unlike any other location in the area. Their cronuts (croissant doughnut hybrid) are the stuff of legends and usually sell out. Recently, they featured one filled with jelly and topped with peanut butter. Seriously.
Sunflower Café (7629A State Highway 80, Cooperstown, NY) Don't let this spot's Cooperstown address fool you, Sunflower Café is firmly in Springfield Center. This small but bright and unassuming café has a young, vibrant chef in the kitchen who is turning out all kinds of tasty dishes that contain a mind blowing list of locally sourced ingredients. Also be sure to check out their unique beverage program.
