Several tractor trailers and a PennDOT snow plow were involved in a pileup on Interstate 81 in New Milford that closed the northbound lanes from about midnight to noon.

Pennsylvania Department of Transportation officials and State Police said the clean up took some time since, in addition to other debris, a cargo of Arizona Ice Tea had to be off-loaded by hand.

Traffic was detoured onto Route 11 while the cleanup work was underway.  There were no serious injuries.

Meanwhile, a tractor trailer crash on Route 17 east in Tioga County between Owego and Nichols slowed traffic for a few hours during morning commute.  The rig went off the road and apparently became tangled in guidewire.  There were no injuries.
