The New York Times is reporting that some residents of Greenwich Village in New York City are petitioning to have a street named in honor of the late Jimi Hendrix. Jimi opened Electric Lady Studios in New York City before his death in 1970. The street they are attempting to named after Jimi is West 8th Street. That is the street where he opened the studio in August of 1970 . The organizers of the petition are seeking Tuco name the street as Jimi Hendrix way. I think it would be cool and would probably help bring tourist that are in New York City to that area. According to The New York Times, the petitioners would have to make a proposal to the local community board and then it could be proposed to the full New York City Council.

Jimi Hendrix was born in Seattle, Washington on November 27, 1942. He died in London, on September 18, 1970 at the age of 27.
