Two people face felony charges after police confiscated loaded handguns, pure fentanyl and thousands of dollars in cash from several locations in Chenango County.

Authorities on Monday announced the arrests of a Pennsylvania man and woman following the execution of search warrants.

According to New York State Police, 28-year-old Jordan Melendez of Sinking Spring and 24-year-old Kimberly Rivas of Mohnton were charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Investigators say the seized four handguns and 16 illegally-possessed long guns. They also found 1.5 pounds of crystal methamphetamine, more than one ounce of fentanyl and about 20 pounds of marijuana. Police also confiscated $3,350 in cash, along with scales and packaging materials.

Melendez and Rivas were arraigned in Norwich town court and sent to Chenango County Jail without bail.

Police said the case remains under investigation and more charges are possible.
