It was a fitting ceremony for the Pro Football Hall of Famer. He was surrounded by his former head coach Tom Coughlin and many of his teammates from those Super Bowl years. Strahan brought championships to the Big Blue faithful and they loved him for it. He wasn't just good. He was one of the very best.

The final appearance of his NFL career came during New York’s thrilling 17-14 win over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLII. As the 6'5" towering personality took the halftime microphone and amidst the thanking he tried to ease the anxiety of a fanbase desperate to win again. Strahan said, “I’ve got to say this: Every team has their ups and downs, but the New York Giants have won Super Bowls. There are teams that never have. Appreciate what you got. We will be back! I met Michael Strahan a few times when the Giants were doing their summer training camp at UAlbany. I always appreciated that he was kind to our staff. He was one of the few players that understood that the athletic facilities were our office. He'd always hold a door or say "how are you doing?" and with a smile. That will always be appreciated in my book. Congratulations Michael Strahan!
