I'm sure I am not the only person that moved to Binghamton from a different area and after I have exhausted my resources, I find myself looking for new things to do, especially in the winter time in or near Binghamton. Below are a list of 5 things to do in the winter for all types of people. Let me know if you recommend anything that isn't on the list or if you have a review for anything I talked about!

1) We don't have rock climbing in Binghamton but I did find a few places that are within driving distance. Click here for more information and locations!

2) Visit local museums. We have several museums here, The Roberson Museum, The Phelps Mansion and The Bundy Museum. I have personally been to the first two and enjoyed them immensely. If you love history and architecture, I highly recommend visiting these museums.

3) Visit The Art Mission theater which includes a gallery and a small intimate movie theater that seats approximately 40 and shows films that aren't always released in larger theaters such as Moonrise Kingdom. A great venue to expand your culture in Binghamton.

4) If you have children,The Discovery Center seems to be the top pick for them! In all of the reviews I found, there was nothing but high praises and this seems to be a favorite among children.

5) Skiing/ Snowboarding. There are several ski resorts within driving distance near Binghamton. Greek Peak is located in Cortland, NY and Elks Mountain is located in Union Dale, PA.
