From Cortland, New York to the World-Dio Autobiography Out Now

In the 60's and 70's residents of Cortland, New York knew Ronald James Padavona as the shy little kid from the neighborhood. By the 1980's the world would know him as Ronnie James Dio, the guy that replaced Ozzy Osbourne in Black Sabbath.

How did Ronnie go from that neighborhood kid that played trumpet to having a street named after himself in his hometown? All of the events in-between are revealed in the new autobiography, "Rainbow in the Dark", just released Tuesday.

According to Syracuse.com, prior to his 2010 passing of stomach cancer, Ronnie James Dio had been writing his autobiography. Recounting the dates and details that took him from Cortland, New York to the biggest stages in the world, including Madison Square Garden in Manhattan. Following his death, Dio's wife and manager, Wendy Dio, finished the book with British rock journalist Mick Wall.
