Take A Break And Enjoy Free Live And Local Holiday Entertainment

With the holiday season coming down to a few days left, for some of us (including me), it just gets busier. Primarily, it's getting out and shopping, since I tend to wait until the last minute.

Sometimes that's a good thing when I can find great deals during the week leading up to Christmas, but it can also mean that items I had planned to purchase, may be out of stock as I wait so late to head out to the store. Either way, I somehow make it through that last-minute hustle, and everything turns out fine as far as getting what I need for those on my holiday gift list.

Whether you are like me and have a hectic schedule now until Christmas or not, it's good to take a break and enjoy some of the many holiday things to see and do around the greater Binghamton area. Check out my list of holiday happenings here.

And if you are in the mood for some holiday entertainment, there are some free music events in our area for you to enjoy. For example, the Oakdale Commons has its annual holiday musical events with entertainment from local groups throughout the building.

• Monday 12/19 - The Southern Tier Concert Band at 7 pm in the JC Penney Court.
• Tuesday 12/20 - The Mason Warrington Orchestra at 6 pm in the JC Penney Court.
• Wednesday 12/21 - The Southern Tier Mixed Chorus at 6 pm in the JC Penney Court.
• Thursday 12/22 - Festive Fagotti at 6 pm in Center Court.
• Friday 12/23 - A Touch of Brass at 6 pm in Center Court.
• Saturday 12/24 - Pianist Jim Ford at noon in Center Court.
