Four Months Later, Broome Qualifies For Snow Disaster Help
Broome, Tioga, Chenango and Delaware Counties are among over two dozen counties outside of New York City that are included in a Federal Disaster Declaration for the March snow storm signed by President Donald Trump.
Governor Andrew Cuomo says the declaration means counties can apply for federal assistance to recover costs incurred for recovery from the March 14-15 record snow storm.
The late-season storm dumped 18-41 inches of snow on some parts of the state ranging from the Adirondacks to the mid-Hudson Valley and from the Albany area to the Western Mohawk Valley.
The Governor says state, county and municipal governments racked up over $31 million in not only snow clearing operations but in repairing damage from the storm to infrastructure.
