Pink Floyd released the album "Ummagumma." (that's a lota fun to say!!!)

In 1970
Pink Floyd's album "Atomic Heart Mother" hit number one on the UK album chart.  It was the band's first chart topping album in Britain. (and the sunburnt Mayberry barber, ROCKED!)

In 1974
Wings released the single "Junior's Farm." (Beats the Penal Farm)

In 1975
The Who released the album "Who By Numbers."

In 1985
Mike + The Mechanics released their self-titled album.

In 1988
The Traveling Wilburys released their debut album "Traveling Wilburys, Volume 1."

In 1991
Red Hot Chili Peppers released the album "Funky Monks."

In 2000
Sheryl Crow sang the national anthem before Game Four of the World Series.

In 2003
Papa Roach drummer Dave Buckner and Steven Tyler's daughter Mia were married during an Aerosmith concert in Las Vegas.

In 2004
Linkin Park earned Artist of the Year - Rock Radio and the band's tune "Numb" captured Song of the Year - Rock Alternative Radio at the Radio Music Awards in Las Vegas.

Stephen Stills and his wife Kristin celebrated the birth of their son, Oliver Ragland.

In 2005
Cream played the second of three reunion shows at Madison Square Garden in New York. (And I missed this? What a Jip?)

David Lee Roth was named as a radio show host replacement for Howard Stern. (bad, BAD MOVE)

Michael McDonald sang the national anthem in advance of Game Three of the World Series in Houston, Texas.  He also took part in a pre-game performance of the charity single "Heart of America," part of Major League Baseball's effort to raise money and awareness for Habitat for Humanity's reconstruction efforts along the hurricane-ravaged Gulf Coast.

In 2006
The late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain topped Forbes.com's annual top-earning dead celebrity list, as his estate took home an estimated 50-million-dollars in the previous year.  The grunge rocker bumped longtime list leader Elvis Presley to second place.

The Who guitarist Pete Townshend bailed out of an interview on Howard Stern's Sirius Satellite Radio show after hearing that Stern and company planned to pepper him with questions about his sexuality and the child pornography allegations he faced in 2003.

In 2007
The Sex Pistols played a one-off reunion concert in Los Angeles in advance of a series of UK dates.  It was the group's first performance in four years.

James Taylor sang the national anthem in advance of Game Two of the World Series at Boston's Fenway Park, in which the Red Sox faced the Colorado Rockies.

The Wallflowers and Elvis Costello performed at a 60th birthday party for New York Senator Hillary Clinton at New York's Beacon Theater.

Paul McCartney performed at the UK's Electric Proms in London.

Bruce Springsteen was among the first inductees into the new New Jersey Hall of Fame.  The induction ceremony took place several months later.

In 2010
Results from Ozzy Osbourne's DNA analysis were made public, which revealed that he's a descendent of Neanderthal man, has a six-times higher predisposition for alcoholism than the average person, and is alergic to caffeine.  Geneticists wanted to study the rocker's DNA in an effort to discover how he survived decades of substance abuse and hard living. (Neanderthal man? lol... like we didn't already know that?)

In 2011
Kiss Frontman Paul Stanley underwent vocal cord surgery to "remedy a few minor issues that come with forty years of preaching rock 'n' roll."  He made a quick and complete recovery.

Metallica made their concert debut in the United Arab Emirates with a performance in Abu Dhabi.

Michael Jackson topped "Forbes" magazine's "Top-Earning Dead Celebrity" list with estimated earnings of 170-million-dollars.  Elvis Presley took a distant second place with an estimated income of 55-million-dollars between October 2010 and October 2011.
