I was honored to be asked to participate in the Rescue Mission's 1st 'Ride for the Rescue' this past weekend.

Since coming to Binghamton, the Rescue Mission has worked tirelessly to help our area's homeless men. They opened Whitney Place (which houses the men), operate the Thrifty Shopper on Upper Front Street, and reach out any way they can.

The Ride for the Rescue is a great addition. There were over 50 riders of all ages. Luckily the predicted storm held off!  It was nice to see the families that came out.

For me, this was a great opportunity to teach children what giving is all about.  For adults, it's a reminder of how blessed we are and that helping others is a responsibility for all.

I want to thank the amazing staff; Rebecca, Christine, Gina, Anita and CEO Alan.  'The Ride' was flawless and I felt very welcome.
