The Binghamton Bearcats Athletic Association (BBAA) will host the 16th Annual Celebrating Women's Athletics scholarship event presented by M&T Bank virtually at 6 PM EST on Thursday, April 15th.This year, WNBA superstar and impactful leader, Breanna Stewart, will be the featured speaker.

Stewart, a native of Syracuse, is considered one of the greatest players in the history of the WNBA. Beginning her Seattle Storm career in 2016, her WNBA accolades include Rookie of the Year (2016), WNBA All-Start (2017, 2018), WNBA MVP (2018), WNBA Finals MVP (2018, 2020), and WNBA Champion (2018, 2020). In 2020, she was named Sports Illustrated Sportsperson of the Year.

Prior to the WNBA, Breanna had one of the most decorated collegiate basketball careers in NCAA history. Stewart was a four-time NCAA National Champion (2013-2016), a four-time NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player (2013-2016), and a three-time Consensus National Player of the Year (2014-2016) for the University of Connecticut.

In addition to Breanna Stewart, this year's event will feature a live panel of notable Binghamton University alumnae who work in the sports field. Members of the panel include:

  • Rose Barre ('06 BS, '08 MA), the Executive Director of Sales, Service and Business Strategy for the New York Yankees
  • Jennifer Cabalquinto ('90 BS), Special Advisor and former Chief Financial Officer of the Golden State Warriors
  • Kate Townley ('04 BS), Director of Baseball Administration for the Minnesota Twins
  • Lauren Verrusio ('06 BA), Head of Consumer Communications for Google/YouTube
