Authorities say 34-year-old Jason Jones of Endwell was arrested around 2 a.m. Friday.

According to state police, Jones was charged with two counts of second-degree assault in connection with the attack on North Street in Endwell.

Investigators say a man and a woman sustained contusions and lacerations in the incident. They were treated at Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City.

Police say the pipe attack was preceded by a verbal dispute. They did not say what triggered the fight.

Jones was arraigned in Johnson City village court and sent to Broome County Jail without bail.
