$10,000 is going to Little Italy in Endicott for a kitchen project in the Heritage Center and Museum.

The funding for the project is coming from Broome County’s Small Community Fund.

Little Italy is working with local restaurants and chefs to plan community cooking classes that promote the neighborhood’s heritage.

Little Italy Board President Michael Romeo says when the project is complete, the Center will also be offering ethnic dinners and wine making classes.

2020 will mark the 10th anniversary for the Little Italy Endicott Heritage Center.

Broome County’s Small Community Fund is available for municipalities, non-profits and local economic development entities that are working on projects that fit in the County’s Comprehensive Plan.

The fund totals $150,000 and allocations are awarded through approval by the Board of Acquisition and Contract.

The county expects to announce information about the 2020 funding in upcoming weeks.
