Two projects at the former IBM Endicott manufacturing complex will affect traffic on village streets.

The northbound lane of Oak Hill Avenue between Clark Street and Watson Boulevard will be closed starting Thursday for façade work on a building at the Huron Campus.

Chris Pelto, who oversees operations at the site, said a NYSEG crew is scheduled to remove a transformer and a pole outside Building 38.

After regular electrical service has been shut off, a generator will provide power to the building while exterior work is underway. The project is expected to take about two weeks to complete.

The interior of the last-standing former Endicott Johnson building in the village also is planned.

When the first project is finished, crews are to start work to demolish the southern elevated walkway connecting a pair of buildings along McKinley Avenue.

The walkway to be removed is near North Street. It hasn't been used in years because the former IBM buildings on the east side of McKinley Avenue were vacated. Those buildings eventually are to be demolished.

Both lanes of McKinley Avenue between North Street and Watson Boulevard will be closed to traffic for approximately two weeks for the walkway project. The sidewalks in the work zone also will closed. That job is expected to start around November 21.
