This morning I had the the honor of calling one of our listeners to tell them they won $1,000 in the Social Distance Dollars contest.

George Kennedy of Endicott was chosen by the computer at random as a $1,000 winner. So I figured it would be cool to call him and surprise him with the news. If you missed the phone call this morning during Freezone in the Morning, you can hear it below.

George said that he has won concert tickets from us before, but this is the biggest prize he's ever won in his life. When I asked him what he was planning on spending the money on, he said he didn't know. He said with everything being closed down right now due to the Covid-19 crisis, he would probably put the money away until he can get out and enjoy spending it.

George joins the growing list of winners that includes Bill Showers of Vestal. You can join that list too. Be listening for the three code words each weekday. We give them out on the air at 7:20 a.m., 12:20 p.m. And 4:20 p.m.

When you hear the code word, open the Whale Mobile App and click on “win cash”, or you can enter the words through the Whale Website. Here's the link to do that.

Someone wins a grand with each code word. And every code word that you insert on our mobile app or website, you get another entry into the drawing for the grand prize of $10,000.

So listen each weekday to win, and good luck from all of us at 99.1 The Whale.

Here's the audio of me calling George to tell him he won.
