Endicott Man Accused of Killing His Father Four Years Ago

A Broome County grand jury has indicted an Endicott man on murder and other charges in the 2014 death of his father.

33-year-old Shawn Kostick was named in a 10-count indictment that was unsealed Friday morning.

According to the district attorney's office, Kostick is accused of causing the death of Harry Kostick on Lincoln Avenue in Endicott between September 1, 2014, and October 3, 2014.

Kostick also allegedly "instilled fear of physical injury, or caused physical injury, to two witnesses, for the purpose of obstructing, delaying, preventing, or impeding communication between the witnesses" and police.

Kostick is accused of writing $2,983 in checks from an account belonging to his father following his death.

The charges listed in the indictment are: second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter, second-degree intimidating a victim or witness, four counts of second-degree forgery, two counts of third-degree intimidating a victim or witness, and first-degree criminal contempt.

Endicott police and New York State Police were involved in the investigation.
