A Broome County man was arrested after he allegedly fled the scene of a collision in the city of Binghamton.

Authorities said 47-year-old Joseph Burch of Marshman Road, Chenango Forks was charged with DWI and felony aggravated unlicensed operation.

According to the Broome County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched around 11:45 p.m. Friday to assist Binghamton police in locating a pickup truck involved in a hit-and-run crash. The collision occurred at the intersection of Broad Avenue and Bevier Street.

A short time later, sheriff's deputies spotted a truck that matched the description of the vehicle that left the scene of the collision traveling eastbound on Interstate 88 in the town of Chenango.

Burch allegedly was driving erratically and initially did not pull over. The truck eventually was stopped near Exit 3 in the town of Fenton.
