Doug’s Sports Rap: NFL Week Two
Week two of the NFL season gave teams a chance at redemption, with some comeback victories, along with season-ending injuries.
The Buffalo Bills won a close game over the Miami Dolphins, Quarterback Josh Allen threw four touchdown passes with 417 yards in the air, and a team total of 524 in their comeback win.
The San Francisco 49ers overwhelmed the New York Jets 31-13, but lost some players including quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, who left the game with a high ankle sprain, and defensive linemen Nick Bosa who may have a torn ACL.
The New York Giants are continuing to lose games and couldn’t muster up enough offense to come back from a 14-0 half time deficit in spite of shutting out the Bears in the second half, the Giants are now 12-38 since 2017. Tthey may have lost their star running back Saquon Barkley, possibly for the season. He left the game with a knee injury that might be a torn ACL.
Arizona defeated the Washington R.. (nope didn’t say it) 30-15, The Baltimore Ravens continue to look like contenders with a 33-16 win over the Houston Texans.
After trailing most of the game, the Dallas Cowboys came back to defeat the Atlanta Falcons 40-39, and the Pittsburgh Steelers and the ageless Big Ben Roethlisberger defeated the Broncos 26-21.
The defending champion Kansas City Chiefs squeaked out a victory over the LA Chargers with an 23-20 win in overtime , thanks to the foot of Harrison Butker and a 58 yard field goal.
The New England Patriots suffering a 35-30 heartbreaking loss to the Seattle Seahawks, Cam Newton was stopped on the final play with a game saving tackle by Seahawks L.J. Collier on the one yard line.
Ton Brady picked up his first win in a Tampa uniform by defeating the Carolina Panthers 31-17.
The Rams beat the Eagles as Jared Goff connected with Tyler Higbee three times form touchdowns in the 37-19 win over Philly.
The Colts defeated the Vikings 28-11, and Tennessee Titans kicker Stephen Gostkowski hit a 49 yard field goal to secure a 33-30 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Detroit Lions started off the momentum. But the Green Packers had the final word with a 42-21 win over the Lions at Lambeau.
The Las Vegas Raiders will host the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football.
