This past weekend the elite of the NBA basketball world converged on New York City during All-Star Weekend.

We got to see several players compete in events like the Rising Stars Challenge, the Skills Challenge and the Slam Dunk Contest. Of course then there was the grand finale on Sunday night with the 66th Annual All-Star Game, held in the mecca of events centers, Madison Square Garden.

In a field of colors from California to New York, the NBA's best compete in an East vs West match up. Lebron James led the east with 30 points, and Russell Westbrook (MVP)  had 41 for the Western Conference and winners of the game (163 to 158).

Carmello Anthony who has been battling a knee injury, that will require surgery to repair, had 14 points and played 30 minutes. I get the feeling that knee surgery will come soon, and the fact he play most of the All-Star game makes me think it will be in a matter of days.

I have said before and many others share my feelings on Melo getting the surgery he needs now and start rehab and building towards next year.

The Knicks are 10 and 43, they're not going anywhere this season.

It was nice to see Melo in the game representing the Knick and I hope next season will be the start of good things!
