The NBA season is about to start, and Wednesday night The New York Knicks will begin a brand new season with a new head coach, the triangle offense, and several new faces.

Coming off a losing season in which they failed to make the playoffs, and going 3 and 4 in the preseason, the Knicks look to create harmony on the court, with aggressive defense and belief in the triangle offense.

If you’re looking for instant gratification, you’re in for a bit of a let down, I believe it will take the team at least one third into the season before things start to smooth out.

The very first game they’ll be tested by the Chicago Bulls, and then the new look Cavaliers with Lebron James.

Look for Sam Dalembert to start at center and be aggressive, if he can stay healthy I think the team will force a lot of outside shots from opponents, look for Carmello Anthony  to draw double teams in the triangle and free up other players for open looks and open lanes to the basket

Tim Hardaway Jr and  Iman Shumpert need to be aggressive when given those opportunities.

JR Smith is a guy we know can score and get hot, Amar’e Stoudemire is another weapon with his quickness in the paint, and new acquisitions Jose Calderon, Quincy Acy, Shane Larkin and rookie Cleanthony Early will have an opportunity to contribute.

I haven’t watched much preseason but I will be watching the regular season and blogging about the team all season.

I am most excited about the management changes, over the past years there have been many bad decisions made upstairs, the proof is in the results or lack of regarding inconsistencies year after year, the mindset was instant gratification, and I think Phil Jackson and Derek Fisher know how to be patient and let things happen, so look for a slow but steady start…Go Knicks.
