Don’t Fall For Email Scams
I got the craziest email scam ever yesterday! I could've fallen for it, but luckily I've told you the ways to detect a fake email so many times that I flagged it right away.
Here it is. Let's go over the ways it is obviously a fake.
1. It says "Dear Customer". Any real email will address you by name or have a portion of your account number in it.
2. Read it. The language is not very "American". Chances are it was written by someone overseas. "Please service your debt"?? Really? I have never seen that phrase.
3. Incorrect grammar. "This invoice is sent repeatedly". Ummm, yeah.
4. There is a link to click on. Even if the email is real, I never ever click on a link from a business. I always go to my account page online. If the invoice isn't there, it's bogus. Regardless. NEVER click a link unless you can absolutely verify it is fine. Do not depend on your antivirus software. It can't keep up with the tricks.
5. The name of the sender. E-Z Pass Collection Agency? Wow, that was some bad researching on their part! Losers!
