A one-time downtown Binghamton hot spot is expected to be busy again within the next several months.

Developer Yaron Kweller said a long-term lease has been signed for the space that had been home to Parlor City Pub and a neighboring pizzeria.

Kweller said he and his partners who operate The Colonial bar and Dos Rios Cantina restaurant on Court Street are planning to open the new business at 15 Hawley Street.

The food concept is still being finalized but Kweller said it will be "something nobody has seen before in downtown Binghamton."

Ultimately, Kweller said the place will be a venue for live music, as well as "good food and good beer."

Kweller said the location features the "best patio" in the city. He envisions a couple of fire pits and some outdoor heaters to provide greater use of the patio space.

Kweller said he hopes the new business can be open within six months.

Last fall, Tioga County businessman Adam Weitsman discussed plans to turn the property into a sports bar but he eventually decided not to pursue any new projects in Binghamton for the time being.
