Welcome to a brand new year. You know what this means, right? A fresh start!  If you've decided to work on dropping some weight this year, you don't have to go an extreme cleanse or live on lettuce and celery. As a matter of fact, there are four healthy ways to detox and get the weight loss ball rolling.

  • 1

    Avoid Sugar and Salt

This might feel impossible to achieve, but if you're feeling bloated, you might want to back away from the pasta and go easy on whatever leftover holiday cookies are lingering around your house or office because they'll only make you feel worse.

  • 2

Eat Even More Fruits and Veggies

If you've been eating nothing but holiday junk foods for the past month, you really should try to step up your fruit and veggie intake. It might sound like a lot, but you really should try to eat between 7 and 12 servings. If you do this, you'll get all of the vitamins and minerals that you've been missing out on for the past month.

Start Off Slowly at The Gym

A lot of people think as soon as the new year arrives that they need to attack the gym with a vengeance, but this really isn't the best idea. Listen, if you push yourself too hard on the first day you go back to the gym, you're going to overdo it and be too sore to go back the next day. A lot of people wind up never going back.

    Load Up on Water

Drinking water is going to be the fastest way for you to start feeling healthier because it'll flush out all the icky toxins in your body. If you're not sure how much water you should drink, here's an easy formula: divide your body weight by two and then drink that many ounces of water a day. So if you weight 150 pounds, you should drink 75 ounces of water a day.
