Sheriff Craig DuMond has announced he has implemented a body-worn camera program.

The Sheriff says the Axon Body Worn Cameras have been issued to Patrol Deputies, who start using the devices June 12 following training on associated policy and procedure as well as basic operation.

DuMond says the overwhelming majority of time finds cameras show law enforcement officers are doing things right.

The cameras also serve as a tool in the prosecution of criminal cases by supplementing a Deputy’s court testimony with audio and video evidence recording during an incident.
