I'm under pressure to come up with this week's Classic Rock Throwback, and I don't do well under pressure unless alcohol is involved. Management won't let me drink at work.

Then something popped into my head. It's something that happens from time to time.
I still remember the first song played on my very first solo radio show in 1973. It was 'Witchy Woman' by The Eagles. I had been on the radio prior to that, but it was a team effort through a high school radio club, and this time it was just me, as a new part time DJ on WCBA-AM in Corning, NY.

It was a Top 40 radio station, playing music off 45 rpm records on 2 huge turntables. Anybody remember those? It was a magical time for me. I do remember it was also the era of deep voiced DJs, so I did my best to lower my voice as much as I could. Not good. What can you expect from a 17 year old kid, just learning to be a Disc Jockey? 42 years later, I've somehow remained in the business. A combination of crazy, loving radio, and not knowing how to do anything else!

For this week's Classic Rock Throwback Thursday, let's enjoy The Eagles 'Witchy Woman' from a 1973 BBC session.
