In the 70s, Led Zeppelin was enjoying being on top of the Rock World. They were the favorite for many of the youth of America.

Led Zeppelin brought in $642,000 for that show, which was a lot of money in 1977

On April 30th,1977, the boys in the band were scheduled to play a concert in Michigan at the Pontiac Silverdome. Not sure if anyone who attended knew they were about to help to break a world attendance record for a concert. That number was reported to be 76,229. That record was held by their rock counterparts - The Who, which was also achieved at the Silverdome.

With that many people in attendance, I'm sure those in the nose bleed sections didn't see much of the stage, but at least they got to experience one of the best bands on the planet, live. Led Zeppelin brought in $642,000 for that show, which was a lot of money in 1977. Hell, that's a lot of money today! I'd take it any day of the week.

Take a moment to enjoy this video clip of Led Zeppelin at a 1977 show in California performing ' The Song Remains The Same', for this week's  Classic Rock Throwback Thursday.
