Classic Rock Pick of the Week – ‘Light My Fire’ [VIDEO]

September 17th, 1967, The Doors were the musical guests on The Ed Sullivan Show.
After their two song performance ('Light My Fire' and 'People Are Strange'), the band was banned from the show.

The producers asked the band to substitute the line ‘Girl, we couldn’t get much higher', to 'Girl, we couldn't get much better' during their performance of 'Light My Fire.' Of course, asking Jim Morrison not to do something, probably means he would do the opposite.
Did Jim do it on purpose, or was he just nervous being on such a popular show, and forget to substitute the words?
