Today in Classic Rock History

In 1964
The Beach Boys' "Dance, Dance, Dance" peaked at number eight on the pop singles chart.

I gotta tell you, and this may be way out of left field for what you think of me, but The Beach Boys Rock!
There... I said it!
These guys I have seen three or four times. I believe I saw them as the headliner when they played Edgar Winter Band. They also warmed up for Peter Frampton, back in teh day.
THEY WERE ALSO WERE THE ONLY CONCERT TO HAVE PLAYED AT NYSEG STADIUM ON HENRY STREET IN BINGHAMTON!
I'm not quite sure what year that was, sometime in the mid '90's I think. Anyway, 991 The Whale was sponsoring the event. that was back in the dark days of this radio station when we played... (GULP!) Top 40 Music.... (and we will be forever sorry for that)

Anyway, The Beach Boys were the group that pulled the plug on the British Invasion, and re routed Rock N Roll back to the shining shores of America, where it originated.

If you have never seen the Beach Boys in concert, there are a couple of touring groups out there, and they are both very very good. (I would recommend the Mike Love version)

Anyway, do you remember who was the 'OTHER' act that played with The Beach Boys that hot summer day at B-Mets Stadium?
