The Federal Bureau of Prison reports 40-year-old Christian Maire was involved in an altercation at Milan Detention Center, 50 miles southwest of Detroit.

The Detroit Free Press reported the married, father of two was beaten to death during the fight at the prison and detention center.

Maire had described himself in some computer profiles as being involved in a high-technology computer business in the Binghamton area.

He was accused of participating in the pornography ring calling themselves "The Bored Group." The group invited adult male participants to pose as young boys and befriend young girls in order to entice them into participating in pornographic activities on video.

He pleaded guilty in May and was sentenced in Federal Court in Michigan in December to 40 years in prison.  Seven other men from the United States and Canada were convicted for their participation in the group.

Media reports say the prison fight January 2 involved seven inmates. The FBI is investigating.
