I need to preface this by saying that the article I mention having read was a totally satirical one but it made me chuckle...and think.

I stumbled on (again, a satirical) article in The Babylon Bee titled, "Keystone XL Pipeline To Be Repurposed To Transport Chick-fil-A Sauce." The tongue-in-cheek article talked about how there's a national sauce shortage and since the Keystone XL Pipeline isn't pumping gas to us anymore, it would be used to transport sauce.

Can you even imagine a pipeline of delicious flowing goodness to every home? Yes, I know we would all rather have gas flowing but sometimes it feels good to let your mind wander to other uses for things. Also, it would be a great way to get Chick-fil-A sauce on Sunday!

And also yes, even Chick-fil-A has been hit by the sauce shortage. You might not have heard about it because the two closest Chick-fil-A restaurants to us are located in Wilkes Barre and in Cicero so it's not like we're jetting off for a daily fix.

CNN Business reported on May 12 that the national restaurant was forced to place a limit on the number of sauce packets it hands out to customers. What does the limit look like? A very sad one sauce pack per item ordered.

If you haven't seen it, Weis Markets are now selling Chick-fil-A sauce in bottles. One of my co-worker friends just bought me two bottles, one of the original sauce and the other was the Polynesian sauce. The 16-ounce bottles were $3.99 each at Weis in Endwell but prices and availability at other locations may be different.

If you could pump one frivolous thing through the Pipeline, what would it be? Would it be Chick-Fil-A Sauce? Maybe spiedie sauce? How about golden, gooey cheese?

By the way, if the thought of being limited on the amount of Chik-fil-A sauce available for dunking has you grabbing your chest in grief, this copycat recipe has a 5-star rating by people who've made it themselves.
