Contract negotiations between the union representing 65 registered nurses and Chenango Memorial Hospital may not even be in stable condition at this point

In a news release from 1199 SEIU United Healthcare Workers East, bargaining committee member, Nina Angelina said she was looking forward to talking with new Human Resources personnel at the hospital but saw no indication of that side wanting to work with the Union following initial talks that began October 4.

The RNs’ current collective bargaining agreement with the hospital in Norwich, negotiated in 2016, is set to expire on October 31.

The union claims the hospital management has been reluctant to schedule bargaining sessions and respond to proposals.
