A car struck a parked vehicle, then backed up and hit another car before smashing into an office building and a utility pole in downtown Binghamton.

The series of crashes on State Street happened around 4:25 p.m. Friday.

A witness said an eastbound silver Toyota Camry veered across the street and struck a parked Toyota, causing minor damage.

People who observed the car driver said they believe he may have been experiencing a medical problem.

A crew from a Superior Ambulance that came upon the crash along with Binghamton fire medics assisted the driver. He was taken to a hospital for evaluation.

The occupants of the BMW that was struck were not injured.
