BleacherReport.com has stirred up a controversy and I am here to squash it.

The site recently questioned if sports fans were entitled to say 'we' when referring to their team.
Example: A NY Jets fan saying "we need a new quarterback!"

According to BleacherReport, the answer is no. Only former players, coaches, staff and anyone on the payroll can do so.  I say that's bull!

Fans put money into their teams. Lots of it. Not only do they buy tickets to games, but they buy merchandise. And watching games on TV brings obscene amounts of money to into the bank accounts of teams and their Leagues.

Without loyal fans, there would be no multimillion dollar payrolls. Heartache also has a cost. Fans of teams that perennially stink continually give to their teams, in some cases more than winning team fans.

So, BleacherReport, my response is:  are you kidding? We can say 'we' anytime we want! Without us, there is no sports!

My Eagles may not be great this year, but they are mine!
