Burglary Suspects Sought in Binghamton, Port Dickinson
Police from three agencies swarmed a neighborhood in Binghamton and Port Dickinson searching for several suspects in an attempted home break-in.
City police units were sent to a two-family home on Bromley Avenue near Chenango Street around 2:30 a.m. Monday.
Four teenagers reportedly tried to burglarize a residence. One of them was said to have struck a person with an object during the incident.
The incident happened on the south side of Bromley Avenue, which is in the city. Homes on the other side of the street are in the village of Port Dickinson.
Binghamton police officers searched streets in the area with assistance from the Broome County Sheriff's Office and Port Dickinson police.
A resident said several police cars were in the neighborhood for an extended time after the incident.
Other burglaries and attempted break-ins also are being investigated in the area.
Binghamton detectives returned to the neighborhood Monday afternoon, apparently to conduct additional interviews.
