An employee said police apparently were alerted to the burglary at the small market and gas station from an alarm. He said officers were at the store when he arrived around 7 a.m.

A detective supervisor declined to say whether anything was taken in the incident. A man who answered the phone at the store early Wednesday afternoon declined to comment on the burglary.

It's the second time in less than two weeks the business has been targeted by criminals.

An gun-wielding robber reportedly got away with several hundred dollars in a late-night heist at the market on February 16.

No arrests have been reported in connection with the robbery.

People with information about the incidents may contact Binghamton detectives at 607.772.7080.
