BU Alum Paul Reiser Appears in Netflix Popular Series ‘Stranger Things’
The Greater Binghamton area has had its share of celebrities who hailed from our area, went to school here, or moved here for a time, including Rod Serling, Richard Deacon, Johhny Hart, Bridget Moynahan, Amy Sedaris, Chandler, Daquan, and Jon Jones, Billy Martin, Fred Coury, and Paul Reiser to name just a few.
One of those celebrities - Paul Reiser attended Binghamton University in the 1970s, graduating with the class of 1977. He went on to become a stand-up comedian and then into television sitcoms and movies, including the popular 'Mad About You' co-starring with actor Helen Hunt.
Wikipedia lists Paul as appearing in 'My Two Dads', 'Beverly Hills Cop 1 & 2', 'Diner', 'Aliens', 'The Marrying Man', and 'Bye Bye Love' among many other television shows and movies. And most recently, he acted in 'The Kominsky Method', and also in the popular Netflix series 'Stranger Things.'
In 'Stranger Things', Paul Reiser plays the character of Dr. Sam Owens, a department of energy executive, first appearing in season 2, then as a guest appearance in season 3, and back again in the just-released season 4.
Paul Reiser will appear in an upcoming Hulu series titled 'Reboot' according to Wikipedia. A couple of years ago, Paul had words of wisdom for the Binghamton University Class of 2020 in a video you can check below.
